Refurbishment to the Junior Secondary campus

Coomera Anglican College Junior Secondary ‘J Block’ is about to undergo a significant refurbishment, with works commencing late January 2020 and expected to be finalised by the September holidays, subject to favourable weather.

The project will include an extension to the building with four brand new air-conditioned classrooms to complement the existing eight classrooms.  This extension will be to the Northern end of the building, near Days Road.  The existing classrooms will go through a staged refurbishment to match the new rooms, and have been designed in accordance with the latest teaching practices around project-based learning (PBL).  The rooms will be fitted out with the latest flexible learning furniture.

With technology transforming the professional landscape at a more rapid pace than ever before, the College recognises the significant importance of investing in facilities that align with a future focused environment. By ensuring our classrooms are modern and equipped with the latest technology, the College will provide our students with the opportunity to deal with an ever changing modern workplace. Project based learning in the classroom, allows the teacher to take on the role of facilitator and learning becomes a more collaborative, hands-on process driven by real-world connection.

In addition to the classroom upgrades, the outdoor Quad area will undergo a significant makeover with outdoor learning spaces, play and social spaces for the students and an amphitheatre.
The project has been scheduled in various stages and whilst there will be some noise associated with the construction, particularly in the first couple of weeks,  controls have been put into place to ensure minimal impact and disruption as possible to our students and teaching staff.

We thank you for your patience while we undergo these renovations.
